We have so many questions...

A lot is riding on our students's education. Be sure you're asking the right questions to vet your school board candidates!

  1. What do you believe are the current challenges facing public education in our state? In our country?

  2. If you have children, do they attend one or more of the 23 schools in the FHSD?

  3. What do you think about public tax dollars supporting private schools through vouchers? Charter schools? Tuition tax credits?

  4. Why is public education important?

  5. What do you feel is the role of a school board director?

  6. How can our district best ensure students are prepared for success in school and life?

  7. What are your best hopes for the future of our school district? How do your aspirations help our students?

  8. What are 2–3 strengths of which our district can be proud? Why do you see these as strengths?

  9. What would you hope would be key accomplishments of the board during your years of service?

  10. What motivated you to run for school board?

  11. What particular skills or experiences qualify you to serve as a school board member?

  12. How long have you lived in this school district?

  13. In what school or district activities have you been involved?

  14. How can our schools address the learning needs of diverse students?

  15. How can we better engage/involve parents in their child(ren’s) education?
